During the surf off-season, from September to March, Miramar has become a popular, soul-satisfying location for Yoga retreats and teacher training sessions.

LISA LAINE

A yoga teacher from Finland, Liisa Laine bases her practice in Hatha and vinyasa with a particular focus on breath work. Lisas classes are designed with a focus on precision and alignment, which will aim to increase your strength and flexibility, as well as release stress and energy blockages in the body.

Vinyasa flow is a very dynamic, Yang style of practice, and it’s recommended to be balanced with some Yin Yoga everynow and then. Liisa also teaches Yin Yoga, a unique approach to practice that works on releasing fascial tensions in the body Package includes accommodation for 10 nights in double or shared (three people) rooms in the Oceanside accommodation. All the meals from Thursday lunch to Sunday breakfast with a drink (depending on the time of your arrival and departure), every meal will be served with juice or ice tea, also every guest will receive three drinks a day for free of charge (beers, Canada Dry, Coca Cola or Gatorade) as well as a coffee & tea bar is available. Daily yoga practices (2 classes a day in the morning and evening). Surf sessions with a guide once a day. Two surf theory lessons during the retreat. Surfboard rental. Christina is a fitness and nutrition coach with a specialization in yoga, based out of Corona del Mar, California. After 7 years in the corporate world, Christina has chosen to pursue her passion of working in the fitness and nutrition industry to help individuals improve their lives by living healthy lifestyles and finding fun & results through working out and eating healthy. She has been involved in sports and fitness from a very young age she grew up playing soccer, basketball, volleyball and running track. In college she began running distance and since has completed 6 marathons, including the Boston Marathon on two occasions with a PR of 3:27. Christina started getting involved in yoga and strength training to complement her running and improve her race performance. She realized the benefits of a well-rounded fitness plan including cardio, strength, and flexibility and now regularly practices all three.

Package includes accommodation for 7 nights in double or shared (three people) rooms in the Oceanside accommodation. Three locally grown and freshly made meals per day are included, accompanied with your choice of tea, coffee, juice or smoothie. Unlimited bottled water is also available and you will be given a travel yoga mat upon your arrival! Yoga will be taught oceanside two to three times daily, one AM flow or power class and a PM Yin class to relax. You can choose to take part in three additional activities during your stay, the choices include: surfing, a boat trip, kayaking, horseback riding, a massage, day trip to Leon or Volcano Tour with Volcano Boarding option. Airport transfer from Managua International Airport to Miramar Surf Camp is also includes. Finally, all participants will receive a video/slideshow compilation of photos taken during the retreat!
